Piotr Betlej
Piotr Betlej is a Polish artist, living and working in France. He was born in 1972 in Jaslo (Subcarpathian Voivodeship). He graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in Jaroslaw and People’s University in Wzdow in the arts and crafts department. In 2001 he moved to France.
He practices mostly figurative painting and drawing but is also interested in sculpture, stucco arts, ceramics, and interior decoration.
He participated in many group and solo exhibitions in Poland, France, the United States, Slovakia, and Ukraine. Since 2007, he presented his works with the Emotionalists – an international artistic group founded by Lubomir Tomaszewski in the United States in 1994. He received numerous award:
- 2013 – award of city Asnières-sur-Seine for painting in IV Biennale Arts sur Scène, Asnières-sur-Seine, France,
- 2012 – award of G.N. Finez Planard – Artistic Salon Art en Capital (Salon des Artistes Français 2012), Grand Palais, Paris, France,
- 2012 – III award of „work on paper” – Artistic Salon, Bois-Colombes, France,
- 2011 – Bronze Medal for painting – Artistic Salon Arten Capital (Salon des Artistes Français 2011), Grand Palais, Paris, France,
- 2010 – I award for painting of Artistic Salon, Bois-Colombes, France,
- 2009 – award for „originality of the subject” – in II Biennale Arts sur Scène, Asnières-sur-Seine, France,
- 1998 – Mayor’s Award of city Jaslo, Poland for cultural activities.
